Bridal Hair + Makeup FAQ
Q. How far in advance should i book hair and makeup for my wedding?
A. I suggest 1 year to 6 months! I am actively booking weddings for 2025 currently. I am only ONE person- so once I am booked on a date with one bride, I cannot work another wedding!
Q. Do I need hair extensions?
A. I suggest clip-in extensions for any hair style that is either all down or half up, depending on the thickness of your hair. I especially recommend them for glam waves.
Q. Why airbrush makeup and why is it different?
A. Airbrush makeup is water resistant (I assume there will be tears at most weddings!), transfer-proof, and “24- hour wear”. The longevity of the airbrush makeup is amazing! It also has such a wide range of shades, that I can guarantee I can match any skin tone from light to dark.
It is also so lightweight and NOT cakey.
Q. When should i do my pre-wedding trial? Where does the trial take place?
A. I suggest doing the trial within 2-3 months of your wedding date. This way, you have your dress and accessories and a clear vision of what you are looking for. In my experience, when you do the trial too far in advance, you end up changing everything!
I do NOT do trials before booking because I do not hold wedding dates. Dates are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Trials are done at my home studio in Alhambra.
Q. How long does hair and makeup take on the wedding day?
A. I give the bride 1 hour for each service (so 2 hours for hair and makeup), and 45 minutes per service for everyone else in the group. I will create your beauty schedule based on what time you need to be getting in your dress- not what time you need to be walking out the door.
Q. Is there a minimum to book?
A. My weekend minimum is $1300- which is the cost of my “Audrey” Package. This includes a thorough hair and makeup trial appointment, beauty services for the bride on the wedding day, and 1 hour of touch-ups.
Q. Do I have to know how many people need hair and makeup when booking?
A. You don’t have to know how many people need hair and makeup when booking- but if you do it is helpful! If I need to hire an additional artist, I need to do that at least 3 months before the wedding!
Q. How do i book?
A. Fill out my contact form on the website. If' I’m available and we seem like a good fit for each other, then I will send over a proposal and contract to book. I require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure any date. The remaining balance is due 1 week prior to the wedding date.
